Now that you’ve opened all the boxes under your tree, if you’re lucky, some of them were shoes! If you’re like me, you don’t like your shoes sitting on the closet floor. I prefer mine organized. I tend to store them in the boxes they came in but after a while, those can become damaged. Also if you prefer a more uniformed look, adding storage solutions is a good option.
Often, it looks better if all of your shoes are in matching boxes. One of my favorites are the plastic boxes because you can see what’s in them. If you have your shoes on high shelves, you can take pictures of your shoes & put them on the front so you can know at a glance what is inside if they are stacked & not easily visible.

If space in your closet is an issue, you can always store your shoes under your bed. There are several options available for both. They have options that allow you to store a few or a lot. Many people store their winter items away during the summer months, the same can be done with your winter boots & shoes.

Another option for saving space is hanging your shoes over a door. Similar to the storage options where you store underneath your bed, you can store a few or a lot over your door.

If you’re one of those people who takes your shoes off at the door, there are storage solutions that offer you the ability to remove your shoes & store them as well. In your mud room or just outside the garage entry into your home is a great place for one of these units.

Another storage option is rolling storage, I like the idea of these for those days when you don’t know which shoes you want to wear and it keeps you from running to the closet back to the full length mirror (unless you have them in the same place….I don’t). Roll them out of the closet, into the bedroom (that’s where my full length mirror is), get dressed & roll them back. I like it!

Lastly, if you’re really proud of your shoes (I am) then you can display them in plain site. Shoe storage doesn’t have to be ugly & doesn’t have to be hidden.
