I love a good conversation starter shoe.  A shoe where you just enter the room & people make comments about it, ask you where you got them or who designed them.  The best is when a man tells you how sexy a shoe is.  Well, I think that Alejandro Ingelmo has a combination of the 3 elements of a conversation starter shoe in his collection.

I know many designers do but in my opinion, some designers make an average looking shoe but because they have a “signature style” they are automatic conversation starters.  Check out these styles by Alejandro Ingelmo & tell me which pair would have you asking about them and why.  I’ll share what would make me approach you & start a conversation.

You look at this shoe & at first glance you figure, neutral platform but the gold heel & platform make this one worthy of at least a comment about its sex appeal.

Come on, do I really have to tell you that this shoe would draw me all the way across a crowded room just to look at them? lol This mirrored gold with all the details would have me considering mugging the woman lucky enough to have these beauties on her feet. :-) Seriously, this shoe is interesting as well as mad sexy.
Ok, I’ll be honest, this one might not make it into my closet but there is no denying that its interesting. It brings to mind the Sydney Opera house but I cannot say that they are not conversation starters.

What’s not to love about this wedge? Sky high, some patent leather, some shine. Yeah, loving this one, it would be perfect for Wedge Wednesday. What are your thoughts?

Admit it, that shoe makes you think of this.

If you have not yet discovered it yet, I’m here to tell you all about it.  It is Pinterest.  It’s a bunch of bulletin boards where you pin your interests.  You can find others & repin what they’ve pinned to their boards or you can like their items.  There is a place to make comments & depending on their settings, you can even pin things to their boards that you think they would like or are relevant to the theme of the board.    There are some really cool things & people out there.

I have a few boards that are fashion related, for example:  http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/shoe-a-holics-support-group/  This is where I post shoes I find all over the web & of course, I repin some of the people I am following & who are following me.

Its not just about pinning pictures, you can also pin videos.  You all know I love my shoes, well I can’t neglect my toes no matter what time of year it is.  So I have a “How to Beauty” board & it has lots of videos of different nail art that I usually will try on my tootsies.  http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/how-to-beauty/

I also have a place where I post clothing items I like.  I know I don”t talk about clothes very often but I do wear them I promise lol  http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/my-style/

I’m in love with all my boards, afterall, I did make them.  So I have things that make me smile http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/smile-inducers/ and music I enjoy http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/music-that-i-enjoy/.  You can create any type of board you’d like.  It gives my followers another side of my personality.  Anyway, I hope you will sign on & if you do, follow any of my boards that appeal to you….or don’t but I have a feeling I’ll see you on the Shoe-a-holics board ;-)

Enjoy!

I have been accused of a lot of things in this life but not having a sense of fashion has never been one of them.  I am constantly “fashionably late”.  When I say this, I don’t mean I am tardy to events, I mean fashion wise, I buy when the prices are what I consider to be perfect.  This means that its not always at the beginning of the season when the look is new & fresh.

There is something liberating about not being a slave to fashion.  I have my own style, my own flair & I will readily admit that I don’t do the whole celebrity watch thing so I can mimick their style, I don’t subscribe to fashion magazines nor do I care what anyone thinks of what I wear.  I dress for Kellie & I know exactly what is in my purse when the time comes to go shopping.

I have no shame about spending time meticulously going through the racks at thrift stores (I find some really great designer clothes there), I don’t pretend to pay retail for much.  In fact, I love bragging about how much I saved to get the looks that get me tons of compliments.  I’ve been very fortunate to have friends who are also highly fashionable.  They share sales, style swaps & great consignment shop finds.

I am a firm believer that there are no longer any rules to fashion.  If you want to wear white after Labor Day & you feel good doing it, then I say go for it.  Ultimately what will show more than your stylish clothes is the good feeling you get from feeling like you look your best.  So, join me in being fashionably late, wear what you want, when you want, the way you want & know that the confidence you feel will make you anything but late.

Tampa Bay Fashion Week was totally underway & I was fortunate enough to attend a portion of the festivities & get reinvigorated by a panel of Fashion & Foodie bloggers.  In addition to attending the Blogger Brilliance, I was priveleged enough to also see a wonderful fashion show featuring Kate Spade, Lucky Brand Jeans & Juicy Couture and this show was hosted by none other than Tim Gunn.  After the show was over, the blogger group ventured over to the Blogger Lounge at Nieman’s for beverages, goodies & mingling.  Well, I know its been a while since I have posted anything original but I’m a shoe-a-holic and there was no way I could go to Nieman’s and not try on shoes.

I’ve gone to Niemans and “visited” Giuseppi Zanotti but this time, I had to slide my foot into these wonderful, sparkly Rene Caovilli shoes.  The $1900 price tag did not deter me & the sales woman was wonderful and even snapped the photo for me.  You gotta love the customer service at Nieman’s.  Anyway, I digress, the point is, the conference was wonderful & the ladies openly & willingly shared their experiences as both bloggers & business women.  I look forward to being able to participate in the years to come in Fashion Week here in my home town & hopefully in becoming a better blogger as a direct result of the information that was shared.

Tulip - TaupeI see so many websites dedicated to Celebrity fashion, many retailers will even let you pick a celebrity name and only show you selections worn by that particular person.  Unfortunately, you won’t find that here.  I’m of the mindset that we are all unique and should have our own look.  However, that does not mean that the shoes that bear celebrity names are off my radar.  I love Jessica Simpson shoes, I tell everyone, her shoes are so comfy that you could run a marathon in them.

Today I bring you some of my favorite looks by some of my favorite celebrity designers.  Dereon by Beyonce, L.A.M.B. From Gwen Stefani & Jessica Simpson.

I am addicted to my fan page on Facebook I look forward to interacting with my peeps each day.  I typically say I don’t post on the weekends but lately I’ve found that I’ve been checking in a little more.  Today I was blogging, tweeting & all those other social networking things that end in ING and then I started thinking.  Yeah, I know, that can be dangerous but I realized that I have quite a few people that I know directly or that fall into the 6 degrees of separation that are involved in marketing fashion.  I have decided to share a them with you.

Mookie Clothing – Get your fitness fashion fix here.  This company is owned by Sarah Reeves Connelly, she & I once upon a time did fitness competitions together.  She has taken her passion for fitness to a new level by offering some cool fashions to get your body in shape.

mookee

Mosh Posh – This cute consignment shop has it all.  It’s owned by Lauren Basil and I met her because I’m nosey  LOL, seriously, she had some cute shoes in her window & is located in the same plaza as another friend that I’ll get to later.  Anyway, she offers a large selection of True Religion jeans as well as a host of other highly recognizable high end fashions.  They are all authentic and all on consignment.

mosh posh

Busy BEA Shoes – Ok, I don’t actually know her personally but she falls into the 6 degrees of separation rule.  This company is owned by Britt Erekson & let me tell you this lady has some moxie!  I like it!  She posted something to my facebook fan page & I removed it and let me tell you that she called me on it.  :-)  I took a look at her shoes & they are feminine and affordable!  You gotta love that mix.

bea

Pieces With Purpose – I can honestly say that the women that own this company are compassionate, caring & dedicated.  This company is owned by Amy Lerom (who is called Mama Lerom by my son) and Lauren Goodhart Murray (another Mama to my son).  These are Plant High Football moms & there is a special place in our hearts for Plant.  Their company offers shirts with bling!  They wholesale these lovely shirts leaving something on the table for fundraisers to use for their causes.  They create all kinds of cuteness!  See my profile pic in the Gators dress?  They did that.  :-)

Fetch.Fur.Love. – Yes, I know it’s not your traditional fashion but the pet lovers out there will appreciate it.  Owned by Rickena Perry, this little joint is always jumping….with furry friends.  She even has a Yappy Hour!  That cracks me up!  Rickenas shop is next door to Mosh Posh.  I met Rickena because….well, I’m nosey.   LOL, I was looking at the spot that now houses Mosh Posh and walked into her doggie boutique a little more than a year ago & she was so helpful that we became instant friends.

I hope that you all will visit these fan pages and know that wherever you are, these fashionistas have something to offer.  Afterall, we’re all just one UPS shipment away right?

Stylist for Who, What, WearIt has come to my attention that people are really interested in getting a great value when it comes to buying heels.  They also want a little glamour as well as convenience.  How has this come to my attention?  Well, I happened to notice that my most popular posts happen to be on the topics of renting shoes as well as a monthly shoe club.  Well, I’m bringing you another choice where the monthly shoe club is concerned.

JustFab.com offers you the ability to take their style quiz, they determine what your “style personality” is based on the quiz and then the professional team of stylists pick shoes & handbags that fit your style.  The price for these picks is the same as the other club I blogged about earlier this year.  One of the things I enjoy about other than the fact that you  Get one pair of extraordinary shoes or bag every month, handpicked for you by our fashion experts. JustFab.com is that each month, they post a vid on what they like each month for shoes & handbags.  They give you a few style options and this is a great help for the “style challenged”.  The prices are reasonable and they have a wide array of styles to choose from.   I love getting great value with added convenience, makes me squeal with happiness!

Here are the vids for September! The Purse Vid is labeled August but it’s actually the picks for September.   Enjoy!

I’ve been telling the fans on my facebook page to release their wild child all summer.  Seems Coach ® agrees with me.  In the rain,  I decided to visit some of my local retailers.  Afterall, what else is there to do on a rainy afternoon but shop?  So I ventured in and while I saw tons of things that I fell in love with, calling out to me was this delicious leopard print bag!

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="284" caption="Move the strap & it becomes a wristlet"][/caption]

I am a diehard Coach girl and have been ever since I was a teenager (we won’t talk about how long ago that was) but either way, I was glad to see them taking a walk on the wild side.  They had several styles to choose from, the sales woman showed me a cute wristlet that converts to a party purse, there was a pretty conservative looking wallet as well.  This design also comes in dark grey and black.  LOVE IT!

There was no shortage of squealing sounds as I went from bag to bag but by far, these were my favorites for the day.  Coach never disappoints.

When you sign up for The Squeal Factor newsletter to get the updates on designer footwear, one of the questions I ask is who is your favorite designer. I notice quite a few people that are like me, the answer remains blank. Either they don’t care who the shoe is made by or they have so many favorite designers that there is just no point in even trying to name them all. I fall into category number 2. I will be honest, since starting this shoe venture of mine, I’ve learned of designers that I’d never ever heard of. Donna Karan isn’t one of them but there are names like Proenza Schouler, Lumiani & Casadei were on my list of “who the heck are they?” We’ll get to them another day, today is all about Donna Karan.

I have had the pleasure of adding this name to my collection and let me tell you, they are some of my absolute favorite shoes. I call them my all day shoes. When I do shoe socials, you will often see me wearing them because I know I’m going to be standing for long periods. I decided that if you don’t know much about her style, I’d share with you the many faces of Donna Karan, they include DKNY, DKNYC & Donna Karan. Without further adieu, here are the wonderful designs of this shoe fashionista.

Living in Florida, it’s almost like summer never goes away.  Our winters are usually quite short and if we have to wear a jacket for more than a month, you will hear all kinds of complaints.  Regardless of the weather, during the typical winter months, the vibrant colors become quite subdued.  I love when Spring and summer fashions show up because the colors become vibrant and rich.  Toes start springing forth with colorful shoes and polish.  It becomes fun to just people watch because here in Florida, where barely there is a fashion trend and the color palette becomes limitless.

One of my favorite colors is coral but pretty much all of the colors associated with summer make me squeal with happiness.  They make me think about hanging out by the pool with good friends, summer sunsets & cold Sangria.  I hope these looks make you think happy thoughts as well.
