Let me tell you that I have really been working hard! I’ve been out networking, socializing, hob nobbing and almost every other positive thing with an ING. Starting a new business takes a lot of hard work. Well, I am so excited, I got a call about a week ago from a fashion stylist who said “We need shoes & you were the first person I thought of”. This translates to “You’re everywhere & people are talking so I remembered you”. At least that’s what it translated to in my mind.
Being in business means that even though you may have altruistic reasons for a lot of what you do, the primary concern with business is usually business first. Needless to say, I wanted to know how passing along these shoes were going to benefit my business. Turns out, the show is Nationally syndicated on NBC, it’s called Daytime and has a viewing audience of 95M + and of course, that made me squeal with joy & give up the shoes! The shoes were to be used for their Monday Makeover. I excitedly posted everywhere I could think to post (I even considered signing up for more social media sites just to shout it from the virtual rooftops, but I refrained).
The stylist gave me fair warning before the airing that they did not (in the interest of time) have a chance to mention my business name. I will admit, this was quite disappointing but I said, at least they now know I exist. After the show, I phoned and left the producer a voice mail again stating if they ever need shoes…or a shoe diva guest, I am available. While I did not see a huge surge in the analytics of my web site, I have seen a slight increase in traffic since that airing. Recently, I read a post about making your personal brand rock and it used some killer cars as examples. I said I was working my brand toward becoming a Bentley Convertible. I think I’m moving in the right direction. Here are the shoes…As Seen on Television!
