Its the most wonderful time of year.  Time to share the perfect excuse for shopping!  Holiday parties, gift exchanges & all kinds of fun things.  Well, at this time of the year, all that glitters seems to be perfect for the parties.  So, if you are going to have blinged out dresses & shoes, shouldn’t your little toes sparkle as well?  I know many of you live in cold climates but don’t try to pretend that you’re not slipping out of those warm boots once you arrive at the party.  Afterall, they don’t look good with your dress & you know it.  So when you slip into your shiny shoes or your open toes with the blinged out dresses or even if you are curling up in front of the fire with your honey, your toes should still look their best.

These videos show fingernails but can certainly be transferred to those darling tootsies.  Enjoy!

If you’re wearing something blingy, this look would be perfect to match.

I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas & remember, just because its cold outside does not mean neglect the feet. This time of year when the air is dry, make sure to keep them moisturized & pretty so when the summer months return, they look fabulous!

As the weather cools off, many of you will start to experience the change of color in the leaves, snowfall & freezing temperatures.  Here’s where I get to brag a little, it’ll get down in the 60′s the sun will shine most days & at night we’ll actually get to wear our boots.  More for fashion than the warmth of our little tootsies though.  Ah, the perks of living in the Sunshine State :-)

However, it does not matter where you live, we all get to benefit from the sales that happen because of the changing seasons.  Nothing is more fun than buying sandals that were over $100 for next to nothing because the store needs to get rid of it to make room for their new stock.  I will be the first to tell you that I never look at a persons feet & think “Those shoes are from last summer”.  Honey if she is strutting her stuff in them and looking fabulous AND she got them for a steal, I’m more like “Alright now!”

I found these squeal worthy sandals for a steal.  Do they make you squeal with happiness?

I love my shoes, they make me happy.  Since I live in a place where its summer more than anything, I spend the bulk of my time in open toed shoes.  So, with that comes the commitment to a decent looking pedicure.  In addition to great shoes, I just love the idea of having something fun on my feet….for example, fun polishes.

Today I’m sifting through tons of emails and I have from Sephora, this great new arrival.  Magnetic polishes.  I’ve done the stamps & special brushes and all.  So, now I can’t wait to try this new polish.  Has anyone else used this yet?  If so, share your thoughts

Every week there are great sales all over the internet.  Many of them will send you email notifications of these sales.  However, many of the places to shop now are nothing but virtual sale racks & there is always something great going on.  For example, The Fashion Vault is basically an outlet mall on Ebay.  There is a new sale every week, they usually start on Monday mornings at 9 a.m. PST and end on Friday evenings at 9 p.m. PST

The great thing about these sales is that while much of what is on Ebay has the potential to be used, these items are always new and usually from a retailer that has overstock.  Their overage is our gain.  If you are looking to get some cutting edge fashion, this week they are also featuring Romeo & Juliet for up to 75% off.  If you have not ventured over to The Fashion Vault, sneak a peek.

I don’t care what you say, when a woman puts on a perfect pair of high heels, she is instantly tranformed. She exudes confidence, sex appeal & becomes more regal as she enters the room. I often also enter the room with what I feel are bragging rights lol Why?  Well because I do my absolute best to never pay full value for anything fashion related. I enjoy sharing with others how much I saved & then hearing them say “Wow!  How did you find that deal?” I have no qualms about thrifting (some of my best designer clothing items came from thrift stores and still had tags on them). I surely have no issues stalking sales. Well, I never really thought much about shopping on Ebay.com for my designer goods. Partly because I felt it was just too difficult to really figure out what was authentic & what was not. There are a lot of unsavory characters out there that will photograph an authentic item, tell you its 100% and then when you get it, you find out its not the real deal. At least that was my train of thought. I didn’t want to go through the process of having to read all of this feedback & figure out whether or not it was a good value, so on & so forth. Well, they must have heard my cries (yep, little ol’ me, no one else) ;-)

I discovered that many of the large retailers have outlets here. This makes me squeal with happiness because when I buy from these outlets, I KNOW I’m getting the real deal and at a steal. You can’t beat that with a stick! I may still be on hiatus but that does not mean that I can’t tell you where to get some awesome deals. Just make sure you come back & tell me how much I saved you and post your great finds to the fan page.

So back in April, I put my house on the market & decided to go on a shoe buying hiatus.  Other than my 2 children, my shoe habit was my biggest expense so I decided that if I were going to have any money saved up for my inevitable move, I needed to be wise & frugal.   Well, little did I know how deep seated this luxury was for me.  As explored in the upcoming documentary God Save My Shoes, for me, it was more carnal.

At the beginning of each year, most people set resolutions for weight loss, I set resolutions for designers I’d like to add to my closet on a dime & set shoe quotas (I was supposed to acquire 4 pair per month this year) but life said,”No sweetheart” like so many others who fell down on their New Years Resolutions, I fell into this sad statistic.

What I was not prepared for when I decided to dedicate myself to this hiatus was the mental fallout that would follow.  The first thing I learned was I had a hard time going into the shoe stores, partly because when I would go, the sales people would literally welcome me back.  They knew my size & what my tastes were.  Its hard to go into a store & have them hand you exactly what you know you would buy & to add insult to injury, they also knew that if it wasn’t on sale, it wasn’t for me so every shoe they’d set aside was on sale.  UGH!  Talk about tough to walk away!

The next place it hurt was my blog, after looking online at my favorite retailers & seeing shoes that l know I would have whipped out my debit card for months before come & go without a hint of my UPS man, really hurt.  I did a series on my fan page of shoes that retailed for over $150 but were on sale for less than $50.  Again, more mental pain & strain.  So, the next thing to suffer was my blog.  I basically went on autopost so that I wouldn’t have to look at the shoes that were out there at remarkably low prices.

Liane from Sample Sale Sites & Kellie from Sexy Bags & Shoes

Finally, I became complacent with my fan page.  I asked my daughter & a friend to help me post shoes.  Partly because I really got busy with my “day job” but also because the longer this hiatus drags on, the harder it became for me to even enjoy or feel inspired to share.  Well, a few things have happened recently to reinvigorate me.  One, my friends have obviously seen what a toll this whole hiatus is having on me & they have gifted me some wonderful shoes.  (You’ll get to see those below) and we had Fashion Week here in Tampa & my friend Liane from Sample Sale Sites invited me to a blogger conference that featured fashion & foodie bloggers.  These bloggers gave me some insight & offered a bigger vision than my shoe buying habits.  So I say a big thank you to those bloggers & to my friends who knew I needed a kick in the pants & a fabulous pair of shoes that were new to me even if they weren’t new.

So as you can see, either my friends got tired of my whining & wanted me to hush about not buying shoes or they like me!  They really like me  :-)

Thanks to you guys for looking out for me & my mental health  :-D  The gifts of the shoes & the invitation to the blogging conference has lit a new fire underneath me.

Tampa Bay was honored with the presence of Mr. Tim Gunn this week moderating the latest fashions & trends on a local runway.  One of the featured designers was Kate Spade.  I will admit, I’ve always considered her style a little too reserved for me but after seeing them all put together and strolling down the runway, I have a different opinion.  There is no reason that understated elegance can not be considered sexy.

KateSpade-Linette-Black-SB_325

There was one pair of shoes in particular that caught my eye.  They are called Linette and they caught my eye as soon as the model strutted onto the catwalk wearing them. Here are a few more looks from the Tampa Bay Catwalk.  Enjoy!

Speaking of understated elegance, i love the look with the bold colored overcoat & the large hat.

This look in the following vid was one of my favorite looks on the catwalk.

Lastly, the sophisticated look of this dress & overcoat just had to be shared.  The lining in the coat is a map of New York City and this model showed us that you don’t have to be rail thin or under 20 to work the runway.  Get it girl!

Tampa Bay Fashion Week was totally underway & I was fortunate enough to attend a portion of the festivities & get reinvigorated by a panel of Fashion & Foodie bloggers.  In addition to attending the Blogger Brilliance, I was priveleged enough to also see a wonderful fashion show featuring Kate Spade, Lucky Brand Jeans & Juicy Couture and this show was hosted by none other than Tim Gunn.  After the show was over, the blogger group ventured over to the Blogger Lounge at Nieman’s for beverages, goodies & mingling.  Well, I know its been a while since I have posted anything original but I’m a shoe-a-holic and there was no way I could go to Nieman’s and not try on shoes.

I’ve gone to Niemans and “visited” Giuseppi Zanotti but this time, I had to slide my foot into these wonderful, sparkly Rene Caovilli shoes.  The $1900 price tag did not deter me & the sales woman was wonderful and even snapped the photo for me.  You gotta love the customer service at Nieman’s.  Anyway, I digress, the point is, the conference was wonderful & the ladies openly & willingly shared their experiences as both bloggers & business women.  I look forward to being able to participate in the years to come in Fashion Week here in my home town & hopefully in becoming a better blogger as a direct result of the information that was shared.

If you’ve watched the news over the past few days, you know that Central Florida has been pelted with major storms.  Thank goodness today the Sunshine State is living up to its name but the past few days have been seriously wet to say the least.  I know I love a great pair of sexy high heel shoes but there is something about squishy toes that is just not fun.  Sooo, since it really does rain a lot here…..especially in the summer.  I thought I’d see what fun rainboots I could find and add to my wishlist.  Enjoy!
