I love my heels, I spend basically 5 days in them.  Well, that’s not quite the truth, unless you count wedges as heels.  Wednesdays I’ve lovingly dubbed Wedge Wednesdays & each week I give my tootsies a middle of the week break.  Not so many years ago, I thought of wedges as “grandma shoes” and a friend of mine showed me the light.  I have since found so many sexy and sky high wedges that I’m constantly adding more to my collection.  Here I will share a few that I would love to add to my closet.

Last week was insanely busy for me at my day job (surely you knew I actually work, how else do you support an addiction to shoes).  Anyway, being so busy, I didn’t have a chance to create any new posts and let me tell you, I was completely suffering from shoe withdrawals, lol.  So over the weekend I decide I am going tsecrete my posts for the week.  Clever right?  Well you know what they say about the best laid plans too.  Computer tanked!  Soo,  again, no shoes or shoe posts

Now you know, a gir really doesn’t require a reason to go shopping and I had been eyeballing the iPad so new gadget here I come.  Well now I have a new issue, can’t figure out how to upload pictures.  Irony at its best.  So while I figure it out, I just wanted to live vicariously through you.  Buy any new shoes you’d care to share lately?

I really enjoy the thought of my shoe closet being highly organized.  I keep all my shoes in a box of some sort, from the box I can tell at a glance exactly which shoe is inside the box.  I love it when my shoe retailers organize their closets too so to speak.   Something new over at www.Heels.com, they are allowing you to “shop your persona”. Needless to say, there is always a sale or two or seven :-) going on. Here is what you will find in each spot.

Bombshell is filled with heart stopping color, lots of animal prints & if you like the color blocked look, here is where you are going to want to start.  This is for the woman that wants to grab everyone’s attention & be the showstopper.

Brink - Cinnamon Suede

Classic is filled with….well classic looks & colors.  Don’t think that sexiness has been skimped.  I said classic, not boring.  This is the perfect spot for the professional who still wants to add a little sex appeal to her business suits.

Prince - Camel Beige

Park Avenue Chic offers tons of black, I’ll be honest, of the personas, this one is my least favorite but the most practical because black goes with everything.  We all know that having one pair of black shoes simply does not work.  Just because they are black, that style may not look good with all outfits, so I say sneak a peek anyway.  You won’t be disappointed.

Cecity - Black

Lady offers fun and flirty styles for the women who still like that girly girl feel.  Flowers, bows, plenty of polka dots and lots of color.  Talk about fun!

Mimosa - Red

All American is the perfect spot to shop for Wedge Wednesday!  Lots of wedges, great neutrals & some flirty color as well.  This is where I found more flat sandals so if you like to be closer to the ground, this is a good spot to start.

Nanci 2 - Red Multi Fabric

Eccentric is just that, interesting heels, funky colors  & lots of patterns.  I fell in love because if you enjoy shoes that make people start conversations with you, this is right where you’re going to want to be.  These styles say look at me if you want to but I don’t really care because I’m doing my own thing.

Winonna - Bright Multi

Fashion Forward makes me think a lot about being eccentric.  The shoe styles are the same & if you think about it, the attitudes are pretty close.  I don’t care if you don’t like it, I’m setting the trends.  Bold colors, interesting platforms and some new spins on classic looks.  I like it!

Neina - Medium Pink

Bohemian offers lots of chunky heels, patterns & some furry options as well.  Lots of earth tones can be found in this collection as well.

Dig It - Rsk Multi

Quite frankly, I am sure I can find something in each persona to add to my closet but love the idea of perusing through theirs and knowing what I will find in each area.

I have become quite known in my little town of Tampa, FL.  It seems everywhere I go I run into people who know me from posting in various places about shoes.  Its kind of cool to have people stop me & ask if I’m the shoe lady.  One of the questions I am often asked when people meet me on the street is where do i find the best sales?

I have favorite online as well as offline stores.  Sometimes one offers something the other does not so you have to keep your eyes open for the best steals.  Online, I am quite partial to 6pm.com, you want designer styles for as much as 80% off?  Here’s where I start, kick in free shipping & BABY it’s like shopping at the store without the cost of gas.

My favorite offline stores are anything that is the outlet portion of the big retailers.  I highly recommend that you sign up for their newsletters because they always have something going on that you wouldn’t know about if you don’t visit them daily.  The following is the newsletter that showed up in my inbox today.  Clearance on shoes & handbags?  Oh heck yeah!  Sign me up!

Another place that I love to visit for great value and believe it or not there are tons of mid-range designers at the thrift store.  Ok, I’ll admit, I don’t usually buy the shoes but if you are ok with them they are definitely there & man, talk about cheap!

Lastly, I find great steals at consignment shops.  What’s the difference between consignment & thrift store finds you ask? I find that items at consignment shops are often a little more costly & better cared for than thrift store finds.  Thrift store items have been donated for a tax deduction whereas items on consignment still belong to the original owner, once sold, they split the price of the sale with the store.    This is where I typically find higher end designers like Gucci, Balenciaga and so on.  Anyway, I hope this has helped you in some way find some great deals.  Remember, those newsletters let you know when there are new items coming & old items going.  The “old” items are usually at the absolute best prices & that’s when I pounce.

OH!  I almost forgot, can’t believe I almost forgot to tell you this.  In addition to signing up for the newsletters, be sure to become fans of your favorite retailers pages too.  They do giveaways & offer savings for the people who become fans.  Worst case scenario, you can always come visit me on facebook or here & I’ll try to let you know when something good is going on ;-)  Tell your friends to come see me too

Happy Shopping!

I look forward to Friday for a different reason than most people.  For so many, it signifies the end of the work week, the start of 2 entire days off to have all kinds of fun before the work day begins all over again on Monday.  Well, I’m self employed so my weekends are taken pretty much when I feel like a day off (that’s not always as much fun as it may sound).

For me, I look forward to Friday because that is when I allow myself to really over indulge in the land of make believe.  I make believe I can afford any & every designer shoe there is regardless of the price point.  I then see which ones are on sale & try to share them.  I share them on Pinterest, my Fan Page, Twitter, who ever is willing to indulge on all my social media outlets, I share as if everyone feels the same way about these beauties that I do.  Ok, enough talk, I have to share.

Ok, that’s all I can take, time to stop drooling :-) I don’t know about you but if you are fortunate enough that these are in your budget, then Happy Shopping!

Its not secret that I love shoes, they make me happy. I go into stores & the sales people know me, they welcome me back. Its also no secret that I do not like paying full retail for any of the shoes that I introduce to my closet. Sometimes being a shoe fanatic in a warm weather state has some serious perks :-) Women of course get to wear open toed shoes for much longer, here it is January and while much of the country is shoveling walkways, I’m deciding which nail polish I will wear on my toes because its in the upper 70′s low 80′s and there is no way I’m closing my toes in.

Me & My Happy Feet :-)

Capelo’s Salon here in Tampa extended to me, my readers & fans of my page that are local a Bags & Shoes Pedicure special.  No way was I going to pass that up!  $15 for a service that we all know costs much more.  I enter & even though they don’t know me from a hole in the wall in person, I am greeted at the front desk by a friendly person and I tell them who I am and that I have come to take them up on their offer of the $15 pedicure.  I’d called ahead & scheduled an appointment but many of us have been in a salon on a Friday afternoon.  It’s almost like being at the doctors office, you’re going to wait because somewhere somehow, they have gotten off schedule.  Nope, didn’t happen.  I was taken in right away  (love that!).

Capelo’s is a typical salon in that needless to say, the women all are chatty.  Customers & stylists alike are friendly and conversational.  I don’t know about you but for me this is important because I LOVE to talk & I’ve been in salons where if they don’t know you personally they don’t have much to say.

I am asked to choose my polish colors and complimented on the glittery look I walked in with done with real glitter all by myself ;-) Yep, I’m proud and I was told that they did these types of things there.  Cheryl showed me a whole collection of glitter colors that left me feeling envious, these were used to create “Rock Star toes”.  I’m feeling all kinds of fabulous now, I have Rock Star toes.  I’m also told about Shellac, waxing, massages, color services & all manner of things they offer.

Capelo’s has been in the Tampa area for 11 years but in this current location for the last 4.  It is on the corner of Sheldon Road & Patterson and was pretty easy to spot.  So back to my experience there, as I mentioned, I walked in with Rockstar toes & I start telling this story about tin foil on my toes only to look down & see Cheryl with a handful of tins.  Why I thought this would be new information to her is beyond me, the lady is on top of her game.  Glitter, tin foil & nail art, I really should have known better.  We go about getting to know one another & now its time for polish.  I’m almost disappointed because I’m having such a wonderful time & its drawing to a close.  Once my service is complete, I am not made to feel that I must leave so the next person can hop in the chair.  I am treated like a person & not a number and this makes me a happy camper.  Not only am I not tossed out of the chair but we started with one color & about 4 toes in, I changed my mind.  I felt bad but was told, no worries & I traded my bright blue for matte purple toes.  If you are in the area, I do hope you will go by and check out the wonderful service for yourself.  While you’re there, ask for the Sexy Bags & Shoes Pedicure special, it’ll be $15 well spent.

If you are a fan of glitter polish, then you know how tough it can be to remove, when you add additional glitter, it only gets worse :-)  Here is how I remove my glitter polish & was happy to learn that Cheryl over at Capelo’s uses this method as well.

tin for removing glitter polish (doesn't have to be this pretty, as long as its big enough to wrap your little piggies)

wet cotton pieces in remover & lay on polish, then wrap with foil

Make sure to wrap your toes so the cotton is snug to your nailbed

Not the greatest picture of my Rock Star toes but there was plenty of glitter :-)

When foil is removed, most if not all the glitter is gone. You don't have to wait a long period, once you have all the toes wrapped, go back and start with the first toe & start removing the foil. The cotton stays in the foil making for less mess in the end.

The finished result, I chose a matte purple polish

A word about matte polish, if you've never used it before this advice is for you. Do not put a top coat on matte polish or you will create a shine. There are topcoats made specifically for matte polish but if you don't plan to make this your main type of polish, I say forego the topcoat.

Loving my sequined animal print hat

I am not the traditional style blogger in the sense that many of these fabulous fashionistas put on their flare & then photograph themselves showing off the look.  I of course am in love with my shoes & rarely share my photo on my blog.  However, I love to be a part of something fun so when I discovered that Kristina over at Pretty Shiny Sparkly was doing an activity called Bloggers Do It Better….well, hello!  I had to jump on board & of course, I was the late comer (aren’t you supposed to be fashionably late to parties) :-)

I thought I’d missed it but she let me know there was still time to join the fun.  So, without further ado, here is me in my sequins.

Glad I got to be a part of the fun.

What I’m wearing: Sequined see through tank from Forever XXI (got it off the clearance rack).  Hello Skinny Jeans (got those on sale too at Kits Well Heeled & Well Dressed) and Sam Edelman Quebec shoes (got them on sale too of course)

The look above is more for the evening, before I realized she was doing this challenge, I was sporting one of my favorite hats….which happens to be sequined.  So I’m adding that to show you that you can be blinged out even during the work day.

Almost every Wednesday, I post wedges.  I have declared it Wedge Wednesday.  Why you ask?  Why not?  Heels are fun, they are sexy and after a while, they need a break & so do your feet.  Wearing wedges gives you the lift but also provides a bit more support.  Who said wedges aren’t sexy?  Are you kidding me?  Not only are they sexy but the colors & various designs make me happy.  Check these out and if you still think wedges can’t be sexy, well then we’ll just relegate you to the flip flop section :-)

Giving an entirely new meaning to BINGO! These strappy wedges by Fergie are welcomed in my closet. That heel is almost 6″, baby if that’s not bringing you to new heights, I don’t know what will! On sale….even better! They are 15% off

Carlos Santana is making music with this pair. Loving the cork heel, in my opinion because cork has that springy feel, this equals added comfort. The heel is 4.5″ and these can be worn with a multitude of things because the colors are neutral.

Zeppa - Ballet Slipper
I always tease & tell people that I can run a marathon in shoes by Jessica Simpson. I have yet to put on a pair of pumps or wedges that are not comfy. Its like she used my foot as her mold. This cutie pie is pretty in pink & believe it or not, what really caught my eye is the little cutout of color on the back. Its got a 5 3/4″ heel but the platform is 2″. See? Built in comfort.

So these are my 3 list toppers for this week but here are a few others for you to consider

Fergie Marquee $119.99

Fergie Bonita Too $99.99

Fergie Bonita $119.99

Marcos - Bermuda Pink
Jessica Simpson Marcos $114.99

Helena - Cognac Leather
Joe’s Jeans Helena $244.99 (New Arrival)

Ophelia Wedge - Red
Ed Hardy Ophelia $69.99 (love this color!)

If you have not yet discovered it yet, I’m here to tell you all about it.  It is Pinterest.  It’s a bunch of bulletin boards where you pin your interests.  You can find others & repin what they’ve pinned to their boards or you can like their items.  There is a place to make comments & depending on their settings, you can even pin things to their boards that you think they would like or are relevant to the theme of the board.    There are some really cool things & people out there.

I have a few boards that are fashion related, for example:  http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/shoe-a-holics-support-group/  This is where I post shoes I find all over the web & of course, I repin some of the people I am following & who are following me.

Its not just about pinning pictures, you can also pin videos.  You all know I love my shoes, well I can’t neglect my toes no matter what time of year it is.  So I have a “How to Beauty” board & it has lots of videos of different nail art that I usually will try on my tootsies.  http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/how-to-beauty/

I also have a place where I post clothing items I like.  I know I don”t talk about clothes very often but I do wear them I promise lol  http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/my-style/

I’m in love with all my boards, afterall, I did make them.  So I have things that make me smile http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/smile-inducers/ and music I enjoy http://pinterest.com/bagsnshoes2/music-that-i-enjoy/.  You can create any type of board you’d like.  It gives my followers another side of my personality.  Anyway, I hope you will sign on & if you do, follow any of my boards that appeal to you….or don’t but I have a feeling I’ll see you on the Shoe-a-holics board ;-)

Enjoy!
